CEBU (QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH)

Cebu known as the Queen City of the South. It is a province located at Central Visayas in Region VII. Cebu originated from the Cebuano word "sibu" which means trade. It is a shortered term of "sinibuayng hingpit" which means the place for trading.
Cebu also was very popular in history because of the battle between Lapu-lapu and Magellan (Spanish Conqueror) which was happened at Mactan.
Cebu was also the largest island in Visayas Region and is particularly rich in history especially the colonisation of the Spaniards.
Cebu has 3 independent cities, 6 component cities, 44 municipalities and 1203 barangays.
